SMART opened the Petaluma North station today. I drove up to see the dedication ceremony.
But first, I knocked out San Francisco Muni Nova Bus 5011 and BYD 5004, both battery electrics
operating 29 Sunset.
The opening was well attended, with catering provided that included Lagunitas beer. Their brewery
is walking distance from Petaluma North. City, state, and agency officials spoke about the efforts
made to make the new station a reality. While my photos do not reflect it because of the people in
front of me, the ribbon cutting was timed to the arrival of a northbound SMART train.
After lunch at Pete's Henny Penny, I drove to Santa Rosa to locate a couple of BYD coaches from
Sonoma County Transit. Stopped by San Rafael Transit Center for pictures of Golden Gate Transit
Gillig 1961.
